Davis Cup 2021: When does the US team play?

It is almost time for the 2021 Davis Cup Finals, and the sports community may wonder when the United States team will play. Let's find out!

The Davis Cup, a men’s tennis event between national teams, will be held for the 109th time in season 2020-21. The cup format has been altered for this season. The new structure will result in the formation of a Davis Cup World Group I and World Group II, which will be played on a global scale and will replace the regional Groups I and II.

As a result, the Davis Cup Nations Ranking will no longer be utilized to decide which group a country will compete in. Spain are the defending champion, as well as the previous and current host of the finals. Because ofthe ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, the ITF statedthat the 2020 finals will be held from November 22 to November 28, 2021.

Furthermore, 24 World Group I and World Group II ties have been rescheduled for March andSeptember 2021, and the 2020 regional Group III and Group IV tournaments have been rescheduled for March andSeptember 2021. The 18 nations that qualify for the finals will retain their positions for the next year.

Davis Cup 2021: When does the US team play?

On Thursday, November 25, 2021, the cities of Madrid inSpain;Innsbruck in Austria, and Turin in Italy will host the opening ties of the Davis Cup Finals 2021 at the same time.

The United States team will face one of the finals hosts, Italy onNovember 26, 2021, inGroup E of the World Group, formerly known as the Davis Cup Finals. Group E consists of the US, Italy, and Colombia, and all matches will take placeinTurin, Italy.

Next, the US will come against Colombia on November 28, 2021. The winner of Group E will then meet with the winner of Group D onNovember 29, 2021, in Turin in the Davis Cup Quarter-Finals. Meanwhile, Group Dconsists of Croatia, Australia, and Hungary.
