<p>The <strong><a href="https://bolavip.com/en/topic/los-angeles-lakers" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Los Angeles Lakers </a></strong>haven’t found much success this season. They’ve crushed lesser teams, but they’ve struggled to close games out, especially against <strong><a href="https://bolavip.com/en/topic/nba" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">NBA</a> championship contenders.</strong> The season is still early, but it’s been a worrisome trend.</p>



<p>Granted that<strong><a href="https://bolavip.com/en/topic/lebron-james" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener"> LeBron James</a></strong> has put up big numbers more often than not, but the rest of the supporting cast has been lacking. Moroever,<strong> coach Darvin Ham</strong> has often struggled to make in-game tweaks and adjustments to his injury-depleted rotations.</p>



<p>Also, <strong><a href="https://bolavip.com/en/topic/anthony-davis" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Anthony Davis </a>has alternated great games with not-so-good ones,</strong> not to mention the fact that he’s been quite passive when the game is on the line and during key stretches.</p>



<p>That was evident again in their game with the <strong><a href="https://bolavip.com/en/topic/dallas-mavericks" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Dallas Mavericks</a></strong>. James put on a show with 16 points in the fourth quarter, while <strong>Davis only took one shot in the final 12 minutes </strong>en route to a three-point loss.</p>

<h2>Richard Sherman Blames Davis For Lakers Loss</h2>



<p>That’s why<strong> former Super Bowl champion Richard Sherman </strong>didn’t mince his words against him. In the latest edition of Undisputed, Sherman stated that Davis has a tendency to disappear on the backend of back-to-back games, especially in crunch time:</p>



<p><em><strong>“Where is Anthony Davis? File a missing person report because, again, on a back-to-back, he disappears when they need him</strong>. Sure he, had 13 rebounds but 4-for-10 from the field. Non-existent, I didn’t even hear his name being mentioned in the 4th,”</em> Sherman said.</p>



<p>The former<strong> Seattle Seahawks star </strong>stated that Lakers fans should blame Davis for the loss, adding that he was supposed to take over and <strong>be the Batman to LeBron James’ Robin:</strong></p>



<p><strong><em>“That’s where the blame needs to be,” </em></strong>continued Sherman. <em>“LeBron misses the game-tying shot in the end, but he is supposed to have given the keys to Anthony Davis. <strong>Like, this is your team; I am your running mate.”</strong></em></p>

<h2>Skip Bayless Mocks Davis</h2>



<p>On that same note, renowned pundit <strong>Skip Bayless</strong> mocked the ‘A.D.’ nickname  by claiming it stands for <strong>‘Always Disappearing’ </strong>and called him out for not stepping up and demanding the ball in crunch time:</p>



<p><strong><em>“A.D. too often stands for Always Disappearing, and last night he disappeared in the 4th quarter,”</em></strong> said Bayless.<em>“Again, you and I, and all of us, have kicked this around and kicked him around on the show again and again and again.<strong> If you are that dude, you gotta demand the basketball, you gotta call for it, you gotta say, Remember me?” </strong></em></p>



<h2>This Is Just Who He Is</h2>



<p>Anthony Davis <strong>has been in the league for 11 years now,</strong> yet some people seem to forget that. He’s always been that kind of player, so asking him to be any different at this point in his career is pretty much futile.</p>



<p>There’s nothing wrong with not being a go-to guy. Davis<strong> is perhaps the best Robin in the league, and those help you win championships as well. </strong>Of course, it would be better if he were to take LeBron’s torch and become their leader, but that’s just not his personality.</p>

<p>Needless to say, that puts the Lakers in a tough spot, as<strong> a 39-year-old LeBron James cannot handle all the work on his own</strong>. But expecting anything different from an 11-year veteran won’t get us anywhere.</p>

<p>Unlike other years, the <strong><a href="https://bolavip.com/en/topic/los-angeles-lakers">Los Angeles Lakers</a></strong> don’t look bad at all this season. But there’s a pattern that’s not good, which is that they have <strong>poor starts to the games</strong>. <strong><a href="https://bolavip.com/en/topic/lebron-james">LeBron James</a></strong> recently addressed this situation, saying it’s <strong>something they need to change</strong> to string better results together.</p>



<p>“<em>We gave ourselves a fighting chance but <strong>it’s kind of tough when you go down that many points</strong>, especially when you’re going into the fourth against a high-powered offense,”</em> James said following their loss to the <a href="https://bolavip.com/en/topic/dallas-mavericks">Dallas Mavericks</a>, via <em>Lakers Nation</em>.</p>



<p>The Purple and Gold went to halftime <strong>trailing 62-46,</strong> but the difference went up to 20 points at some point in the fourth quarter. They still managed to bounce back and turn things around, until Kyrie Irving sealed the win for the Mavs with a late three-pointer.</p>



<p>The Lakers have gotten used to coming from behind this season, pulling off a number of comeback wins so far. Darvin Ham’s team has even won six of its last eight games, but it won’t be easy to keep that going <strong>if it fails to start the games strongly.</strong></p>

<h2>The Lakers aim to improve what they did last season</h2>



<p>The Lakers headed into this season with one clear goal: to try and build on their trip to the 2023 Conference Finals. <strong>They already started the 2023-24 campaign better than last year</strong>, when they got off to a 2-10 start.</p>



<p>Many things happened in between, <strong>especially in the February trade deadline</strong>, when Rob Pelinka pulled off a number of moves to rebuild the roster. With D’Angelo Russell and Jarred Vanderbilt joining the team, the Lakers enjoyed an impressive resurgence in the second half of the campaign and finished 7th in the West, beating the Timberwolves in the Play-In.</p>

<p>Los Angeles went on to beat Memphis and Golden State in six games, but the Denver Nuggets exposed they still had plenty of work to do to contend. Therefore, this offseason the front office <strong>made even more moves.</strong></p>



<p>Rob Pelinka seized the free agency to land the likes of Gabe Vincent, Taurean Prince, Cam Reddish, and Christian Wood. Besides, he tied Russell and Vanderbilt to contract extensions. The Lakers are currently 7th in their Conference with a 9-7 record. <strong>Only time will tell</strong> if they ultimately improve what they did last year.</p>

He’s gotten into several stand-offs with coach <strong>Billy Donovan,</strong> and he recently snubbed a member of their PR team as he walked to the locker room.</p>



<p>If you’ve seen the <strong><a href="https://bolavip.com/en/topic/nba" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">NBA</a></strong> long enough, then you must’ve seen this happen way too many times already. The Bulls are struggling, and LaVine is in his prime and feels like he’s <strong>wasting his talents in the Windy City.</strong></p>



<p>As much as the Bulls would rather try and run it back and stay competitive, chances are that the situation will become unsustainable at some point. Enter multiple teams <strong>keeping tabs on LaVine’s situation,</strong> and it could be just a matter of time before we see him somewhere else.</p>



<p>And according to NBA insider <strong>Marc Stein</strong>, the<strong> <a href="https://bolavip.com/en/topic/los-angeles-lakers" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Los Angeles Lakers</a></strong> could be a safe haven for the <strong>UCLA </strong>product, who also happens to share agents with<strong> <a href="https://bolavip.com/en/topic/lebron-james" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">LeBron James</a> and Anthony Davis.</strong> However<strong>, it’s not like they’re willing to break the bank for him.</strong></p>

<h2>Lakers May Not Be That High On LaVine</h2>



<p><em>“Philadelphia’s interest in LaVine has been overstated, as covered here, while I’ve been advised that <strong>the Lakers’ reported interest at this early juncture of the season is best described (at most) as TBD,</strong>” </em>Stein wrote.</p>



<p>There’s another determining factor, which is that the Lakers cannot trade most of their potential trade chips until later in the season, <strong>and the Bulls might not want to wait for that long:</strong></p>



<p><em>“<strong>The Lakers, for starters, couldn’t trade Austin Reaves or Rui Hachimura even if they wanted to before Jan. 15. </strong>A further slew of summer signees — D’Angelo Russell, Gabe Vincent, Taurean Prince, Cam Reddish, Jaxson Hayes and Christian Wood — can’t be traded before Dec. 15,</em>” added Stein.</p>



<h2>Lakers Want To Get Better From Within</h2>



<p>The Los Angeles Lakers could use <strong>another floor-spacer next to LeBron and Anthony Davis. </strong>Then again, LaVine is entering the second year of a five-year pact, and the new CBA makes it tough to put together three players making big money.</p>

<p>LaVine is set to make <strong>north of $43 million this season</strong>. That’s a lot of money for a potential third-scoring option with a history of subpar defense and a temper. Perhaps that’s why the Lakers are reportedly looking to get better from within:</p>



<p><em>“<strong>I’m told the Lakers, at present, are focused on internal improvement,</strong> hopeful that getting Jarred Vanderbilt (who is ineligible to be traded this season after signing an extension with the Lakers in September) and Vincent back on the floor regularly <strong>will give them a meaningful boos</strong>t,” </em>Stein added.</p>

<p>The <strong><a href="https://bolavip.com/en/topic/los-angeles-lakers" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Los Angeles Lakers</a> </strong>have struggled to beat winning teams this season. And just like it happens with<strong> every <a href="https://bolavip.com/en/topic/lebron-james" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">LeBron James</a>-led team</strong>, that means at least half of the roster will be subject to trade rumors for the next couple of months.</p>



<p>Whether<strong> Rob Pelinka </strong>goes through another roster overhaul or not remains to be seen, and it’s still way too early in the season. However, we’ve heard and seen this story way too many times in the past not to at least <strong>keep an eye on what’s going on in Southern California.</strong></p>



<p>Conversely, the<strong><a href="https://bolavip.com/en/topic/chicago-bulls" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener"> Chicago Bulls</a></strong> have some major struggles of their own, and with <strong><a href="https://bolavip.com/en/topic/zach-lavine" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Zach LaVine’s</a> </strong>latest incident with a Bulls’ PR representative and all the trade rumors around him, a move somewhere else seems imminent.</p>



<p>LaVine took just nine shots in the Bulls’ latest loss and looked like someone who had given up on his team, and it’s not the first time he’s had <strong>some issues with Billy Donovan’s coaching. </strong>With that in mind, the Lakers represent a logical potential destination.</p>

<h2>Lakers Are Keeping An Eye On Chicago</h2>



<p>According to <strong>Jovan Buha of The Athletic,</strong> the Lakers do have a real interest in trading for LaVine, who’s a UCLA product and also <strong>represented by</strong> <strong>Rich Paul and Klutch Sports, just like LeBron and Anthony Davis:</strong></p>



<p><strong><em>“The Lakers’ interest in LaVine is real — at the right price,”</em></strong> wrote Buha. <em>“However, LaVine’s potential availability also hints at the possibility of a fire sale in Chicago, with the organization seemingly looking to finally pivot away from its longstanding mediocrity.<strong> If additional Bulls players become available, the Lakers would also have interest in DeMar DeRozan and/or former Laker Alex Caruso, according to multiple team sources.”</strong></em></p>



<p>Of course, they would have to wait until the Bulls bottom out and make their players available first, which could happen a<strong>t any point between now and the trade deadline.</strong></p>



<h2>It Won’t Be Easy</h2>



<p>The Lakers need to make sure to <strong>accommodate LaVine’s contract on their books. </strong>He’s slightly overpaid, and the new CBA makes it difficult to have three players making big bucks at the same time:</p>

<p><strong><em>“The Lakers’ biggest concern in a potential LaVine trade is his gigantic contract: In addition to his $40.1 million salary for 2023-24</em></strong><em>, he’s owed $138 million over the next three years (which includes a $49 million player option in 2026-27 he seems likely to exercise),”</em> Buha reported.<em><strong> “Moreover, LaVine has a 15 percent trade kicker that he’d almost certainly have to waive to make a trade to the Lakers feasible financially.”</strong></em></p>



<p>On top of that, most of the Lakers’ potential trade chips won’t be eligible for a trade until Dec. 15, and it’s not like they could make up f<strong>or an appealing trade package anyway:</strong></p>



<p><strong><em>“The Lakers would realistically have to wait until at least until Dec. 15, when most of their roster becomes trade-eligible (Russell, Gabe Vincent, Taurean Prince, Reddish, Christian Wood and Jaxson Hayes),” </em></strong>Buha continued.<em> “Beyond that, Reaves and Rui Hachimura become trade eligible on Jan. 15. (Davis becomes trade eligible on Feb. 6, but don’t expect them to move him or James. Jarred Vanderbilt cannot be traded due to his multi-year contract extension.) The Lakers aren’t interested in including Reaves in a potential LaVine deal despite his recent move to the bench, according to multiple team sources.”</em></p>

<p>Over the past couple of years, analysts and fans have wondered whether they’d be willing to trade <strong>DeMar DeRozan, Nikola Vucevic, Alex Caruso, Coby White, and even Patrick Williams.</strong></p>



<p>Even so,<strong> <a href="https://bolavip.com/en/topic/zach-lavine" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Zach LaVine</a> has been tied to the most trade rumors on the team for quite a while now.</strong> And judging by his latest statements and attitude, it seems like he wouldn’t mind a change of scenery and play for a team that gives him a better shot at a championship.</p>



<p>With that in mind, and with the Bulls continuing to slide in the Eastern Conference standings and potentially<strong> considering a roster overhaul, </strong>we’ll take a look at three teams that could look to trade for LaVine.</p>

<h2>James helps Reddish redeem himself</h2>



<p>The confidence shown by James on Friday should mean a lot for Reddish considering what happened at the beginning of the week, <strong>when they lost to the Miami Heat by just one point.</strong></p>



<p>In the dying seconds of the game, the Lakers had possession of the ball to try and turn things around. In their final play, James set up an opportunity for Reddish to try a three-pointer, but he missed the shot and the Lakers lost.</p>



<p>Despite the criticism he faced for that decision, James continued to look for an open Reddish against the Suns, and <strong>this time it worked</strong>. In fact, Reddish scored the three-pointer that sealed the deal late in the fourth quarter.</p>

He’s not the same player now, but the Lakers are </em></strong><em><strong>worried they don’t have enough of an edge. He could be someone who helps fix that.”</strong></em></p>

<h2>Bulls Want A Lot For Him</h2>



<p>Despite not being a big-name player, Caruso has made countless big-time plays. He’s the heart and soul of the second unit and <strong>one of the best defenders in the game, even clamping up Kevin Durant in the post </strong>despite giving up like five inches.</p>



<p>He’s <strong>a fan favorite and an instant-energy guy.</strong> He’s the kind of championship-caliber role-player teams would be tempted to overpay for. That’s why, according to <strong>Sean Deveney,</strong> the Bulls were looking to get a big haul for him last season:</p>



<p><em>“<strong>Last year, the Bulls were rumored to be seeking two first-round picks for Caruso, </strong>which was taken by some to mean they were not all that interested in trading him at all—<strong>no one was going to give up that much for a role player like Caruso,”</strong> </em>reported Deveney.</p>



<p>Per the executive, the Lakers<strong> wouldn’t even be close to meeting that steep price,</strong> but they do have some young assets that could interest the Bulls if they enter rebuild mode:</p>

<p>The soon-to-be 39-year-old stated that what the referees are telling him isn’t even consistent, which is why he believes there’s something odd going on, and he <strong>didn’t hesitate to expose them</strong>:</p>

<p>James has always been a physical player. He makes the most of his strong frame to create contact when he drives to the rim, and the only way to stop him is by getting physical with him as well. That’s why<strong> Lakers coach Darvin Ham</strong> can’t fathom the fact that he only went to the line four times in that game:</p>
