Caitlin Clark appeared in the lineup tonight, July 11, when the Indiana Fever hosted the Atlanta Dream at Gainbridge Fieldhouse. It is Clark’s second contest back after a five-game absence due to a groin injury.
Clark has missed a total of 10 games this season—five from the recent groin issue and five earlier due to a left quad strain. She previously missed Indiana’s first preseason game with an injury to the same quad.
“It’s honestly been hard, I’m not gonna lie to you,” Clark admitted prior to her return. “It’s challenged me mentally… especially when you’re not feeling your best.” Despite the setbacks, she returned to the floor earlier this week and was reinserted into the starting lineup alongside Kelsey Mitchell, while Aari McDonald also took a starting role.
Her recent return came during a rough outing for the Fever, who lost 80-61 to the Golden State Valkyries. Indiana led early but managed just nine points in the second quarter as the game slipped away. The team is now 9-10 on the season and remains in playoff contention.

Clark acknowledged that managing her body and mindset through back-to-back injuries hasn’t been easy. “It’s difficult going to prepare for games, but knowing you’re not going to be playing in them,” she said. “It’s been so challenging because I’ve never been through this before.”

Clark’s numbers this season
Clark is currently averaging 17.4 points, 8.6 assists and 5.0 rebounds per game. Even after the injuries, she was voted an All-Star captain and remains third in MVP odds behind Napheesa Collier and Alyssa Thomas. The 2025 WNBA All-Star Game will be held in Indianapolis on July 19.
With the All-Star break on the horizon, the focus for Clark and the Fever remains on staying healthy and competitive. Fans can expect to see Clark suit up tonight as Indiana continues its push toward the postseason.
