Next season in college football, Arch Manning is expected to finally take over as the starting quarterback for the Texas Longhorns. Until last year, that role belonged to Quinn Ewers, who is now in the NFL. Despite competing for the same position — and the media pressure surrounding Manning — both players handled the situation in the best way possible.

It’s now time for Steve Sarkisian to enjoy having his new starting quarterback leading the team. That said, it’s fair to say the head coach has been fortunate to have had such an abundance of talent at this position within his program up until last season.

Manning, during this week’s SEC Media Days event, shared details about his relationship with the now-Miami Dolphins signal-caller, expressing that he learned a lot from his former teammate during their time together.

“I learned so much from Quinn in my two years behind him,” he said. “I think he handled it like a pro. It’s definitely not easy having me as a backup with all the media, but he’s always been nice and good to me. I’m forever thankful for him and I actually texted him the other week for advice on two-minute [drills], and what plays he likes to start with.”

What can be expected from Manning this upcoming season?

Arch Manning is officially set to be the starting quarterback for Steve Sarkisian’s Texas Longhorns this season, with an immense hype surrounding the five-star talent of leading a top-tier program. All eyes will be on him as he steps into this significant role, aiming to showcase the elite arm talent and football IQ that made him such a highly anticipated recruit.

The Longhorns are entering the season with sky-high expectations, considered a legitimate national championship contender. Under Steve Sarkisian’s offensive scheme, Manning will command a roster loaded with talent, including an experienced offensive line and a formidable receiving corps.

As for reaching the National Championship Game, Texas certainly possesses the roster and coaching prowess to make a deep run. Now in the demanding SEC, every game will be a test, but if Manning can live up to the immense expectations and consistently lead the offense, the Longhorns have a clear path.
