Jazz Chisholm Jr. helped the New York Yankees win their fifth game of August in a road victory against the St. Louis Cardinals. Chisholm contributed with two RBI, one of them coming from a home run—the only one hit by a Yankee that day.
Following the game, questions naturally revolved around the team’s lingering struggles, but for Chisholm, the team is starting to “light up.” He feels things are working better and that the team’s good fortune could be beginning.
“I feel like we’re starting to click as a team…I feel like the energy’s starting to come back,” Chisholm Jr. said after the 4-3 victory over the Cardinals, as reported by Erik Boland on X.
Chisholm’s Message Supported by Bellinger
Following the Yankees’ 4-3 victory over the Cardinals, Cody Bellinger was one of the players who echoed Jazz Chisholm Jr.’s comments, saying that the team’s energy felt good. Among other things, he stated that “we believe each other…” Bellinger’s own production in August has been a struggle, as he is hitting just .140 with seven hits in 50 at-bats.
The Yankees still have the series against the Cardinals to win, but they’ve secured the first game, which is a good step. Things truly seem to be improving for the team, as they have now won four of their last six games.
The Big Series That’s Coming
Chisholm and all his Yankees teammates should prepare for a major four-game series starting on August 21 against the rival Boston Red Sox at home. With the home-field advantage, they should be able to do some damage against Boston.
