Pete Rose is – without a doubt – one of the most talented players in MLB history. Looking at his résumé, the fact that he wasn’t inducted into the Hall of Fame decades ago seems like a travesty.

With4,256 career hits, a batting average of.303, and a412–373 managerial record – among many more accolades – you could argue that Rose could’ve made the HoF as both a player or a manager.

Sadly, tho, he was banned from baseball for making picks for gamblers and is no longer eligible to be inducted, regardless of how much he gave this game. That, however, doesn’t bother him anymore; especially after being inducted into the Cincinnati Reds Hall of Fame back in 2016.

Pete Rose Says He Won’t Live Worried About The Hall Of Fame

“For those people who are worried about the Hall of Fame, you’ve got to remember I got suspended in 1989. That’s 32 years ago. I’m not going to live the rest of my life worried about going to baseball’s Hall of Fame, Rose told the media.

“If I’m ever bestowed that honor, I’ll be the happiest guy in the world. I don’t think me picking games –– not betting on games, I have to keep saying that –– picking games for customers will not in any way, shape or form hurt my opportunity to get to the Hall of Fame someday. I’m not the only guy that’s ever made a bet in the world of baseball. I probably bet today less than any of them,” he concluded.

Rose Will Sell His Sports Picks For $89 A Month

And now, to make things more ironic and perhaps go full-circle, Pete Rose announced that he’ll be selling his sports pick with Upick for $89 a month, claiming that he’s trying to make a living like anybody else:

“By me working with Upick, I’m not hurting Rob Manfred. I’m not trying to show him up by doing that. I’m trying to make a living like everyone else. I’m not making a bet on the baseball game; I’m picking a baseball game. I’m using my knowledge to pick a game for whoever is working with Upick,” Rose said.

“But picking games on Upick don’t make me a bad person. It’s not me trying to give baseball a black eye, because I’m not. I love baseball,” he concluded.

I don’t know about you, but if I were to gamble, I’d sure listen to Pete’s advice.
