To say that the internet is a merciless place would be an understatement, especially when we talk about sports fans and the way they continue to clown athletes like Los Angeles Lakers’ forward Kyle Kuzma.

Kuzma has often been on the losing side of countless trolling and mockery around the NBA community on social media, and it doesn’t seem like that’s going to change any time soon given his big mouth and subpar play.

Then again, it seems like NBA Twitter has taken things a little bit too far this time, as they actually started a petition demanding he doesn’t get a ring if the Los Angeles Lakers beat the Miami Heat in the NBA Finals.

NBA Fans Start Petition Saying Kyle Kuzma Shouldn’t Get A Ring If The Lakers Win The Finals

Twitter account @TheNBACentral pointed out the petition and it got over 2,500 signatures (it asked for just 1,500) in just a couple of hours. Clearly, the internet isn’t fond of Kuzma’s contributions to the Los Angeles Lakers.

Kuzma was supposed to take a step forward this season and become the team’s third scoring option behind Anthony Davis and LeBron James but as of today, we’re still waiting for him to finally break out.

A couple of nagging injuries set him back prior to the start of the season but he could never take his game to a different level once he was healthy. Other than some streaky contributions on the offensive end, he had to embrace a different role in the team and was quite a disappointment for some fans.

Obviously, Kuzma is still a very valuable asset for the team and the organization and he’s been doing things that don’t always show in the stat sheet. However, the fact that he talks as if he were averaging 35/10 and single-handedly led the Lakers out of the ‘dark years’ (in which he mostly wasn’t around) clearly has rubbed a lot of people the wrong way.
