Shaquille O’Neal has been in the spotlight over the past couple of weeks. Apparently, some players are sick and tired of his constant shots and criticism in post-game interviews and social media, deeming him a ‘hater’ and even calling for him to just ‘enjoy his retirement’. As you may know by now, an NBA player with such a big ego isn’t likely to take criticism lightly, even if it’s coming from a legend of the game of the likes of The Big Diesel. Then again, there are levels of criticism.

Shaq has gone at multiple players lately. From Dwight Howardto Rudy Gobert, to Donovan Mitchell; no one seems to be safe from the big man. Well, no one, except for Golden State Warriors’ superstar Stephen Curry.

Curry has always been on Shaq’s good side. He’s had nothing but praise for his game and the impact he makes on the court, and he recently admitted that he’s his favorite player in the league nowadays.

Shaquille O’Neal Says Stephen Curry Is His Favorite Player In The NBA Because He’s Unique

“I like him because there’s something I have not seen before. A lot of times when I try to compare the new era and the old era people say I’m hating. First of all, I’m too great to hate. Second of all, I’ve never seen anything like Steph and that’s why he’s my favorite player,” Shaq said.

Well, Shaq is, in fact, a bit of a hater of today’s basketball, but he’s got a point right there. Stephen Curry changed the way the game is played and he’s a player like we had never seen in the NBA before.

Then again, it’s kind of ironic to see that, of all players,Curry – arguably the greatest shooter of all time – happens to be Shaq’s favorite, considering he and Charles Barkley are constantly bashing today’s ‘pace-and-space’, three-point friendly basketball.
