Shedeur Sanders and Dillon Gabriel have officially achieved their dream of joining the elite ranks of the NFL, after being selected by the Cleveland Browns in the latest draft. While both quarterbacks bring plenty of talent to the table, head coach Kevin Stefanski made it clear—they’ll need to be brought along gradually.

The road is long, and the process takes time. Rookies often struggle to find their footing in the early stages of their NFL careers. That’s why Browns HC knows there’s no need to rush decisions. With so much untapped talent, patience will be key in developing these young quarterbacks.

In recent comments to the media following the initial sessions of rookie camp, Stefanski expressed excitement about what both quarterbacks could bring to the team over the course of the season. “No one’s a finished product,” he said.

The Browns HC also added: “We’re doing everything in our power to develop these young men but its a process and it takes time, so I like the attitude of these rookies where they understand there’s work to be put in, but they’re taking the coaching which I appreciate.”

Shedeur’s message ahead of upcoming season

There was plenty of talk following the latest draft about the unexpected slide of former Colorado Buffaloes star. Despite the drop in rounds, his talent remains undeniable—and that’s exactly why Sanders sent a clear message about his future with Kevin Stefanski’s Browns heading into next season.

“My job here isn’t to prove people wrong, it’s to prove myself right and I fully have self-belief, you know, and what those people say, that’s just their opinion. So, I don’t truly care. They don’t really live in my mental space about that type of stuff. It really doesn’t do anything for me,” the QB said according to NBC Sports.

As the weeks go by, it will ultimately come down to who coach Stefanski chooses to lead the first team when Week 1 of the upcoming season arrives.

For now, with no clear decision in sight, Kevin Stefanski will have to choose between the experience of Joe Flacco, the talent of Kenny Pickett, or the youth and potential of the aforementioned Shedeur Sanders and former Oregon Ducks standout Dillon Gabriel.
