The Indianapolis Colts survived a close, hard-fought game against the Atlanta Falcons in Berlin, Germany, on Sunday. The AFC No. 1 seed had to put in an extra effort to move past Raheem Morris’ team.

Jonathan Taylor once again put up a show, carrying the ball 32 times for 244 yards and three touchdowns, including the game-winner in overtime. Daniel Jones was effective once again, going 19 of 26 for 255 yards and one touchdown.

The Falcons tried hard, with running back Tyler Allgeier scoring two rushing touchdowns and Michael Penix Jr. connecting 12 of his 28 pass attempts for 177 yards and one score.

The Colts remain as one of the best teams in the league after bouncing back from a 27-20 loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers in Week 9. Head coach Shane Steichen lauded one player who brought extra energy to the offense.

In the wake of the game, Steichen put one of his players in the spotlight. Wide receiver Alec Pierce had a solid game in Germany, posting four catches for 84 yards and a 37-yard touchdown.

“Yeah I mean, he’s been arrow up since he’s got here,” Steichen said of Pierce’s progress. “He’s making big-time plays down the field. His intermediate game is making big strides so he’s able to do a lot for us offensively – moving him around, trying to get certain matchups.”

Pierce is playing his fourth season in the league, and he’s just 14 receptions (41) and 27 targets (78) away from surpassing their best campaign. He has recorded 585 yards and one touchdown this season.
