Matthew Stafford drops 17 spots in NFL Top 100 list: Which QBs are ranked below the Rams star in 2025?

A new NFL season is just around the corner, and with it comes the unveiling of the league’s famous Top 100 Players ranking. One of the most surprising drops this year is that of Los Angeles Rams standout Matthew Stafford, who fell 17 spots compared to last season. Which other quarterbacks ranked below him on the list?

After making the playoffs in their most recent league appearance, Sean McVay’s team could be considered to have had a statistically solid season — although, clearly, the goal was to go even further.

Their star quarterback had a solid showing during that run, but it wasn’t enough to prevent a sharp drop in the rankings — landing him at No. 59 moving forward. Stafford’s goal? To improve his numbers and lead his team deep into the season, starting in Week 1.

Quarterbacks ranked below Stafford

While the former Lions quarterback is among the QBs who dropped the most in this year’s edition of the NFL’s famous Top 100 ranking, even at his current spot — No. 59 — several of his fellow signal-callers have fallen further behind in the race.

At No. 64, Denver Broncos leader and one of the league’s most promising young quarterbacks, Bo Nix, appears right after Stafford. Four spots down, at No. 68, it’s Jordan Love — the Green Bay Packers’ rising star — who takes that position.

Recently traded to the Seahawks, Sam Darnold lands at No. 72 after an impressive campaign with the Vikings. At No. 79, Dak Prescott — plagued by multiple injuries — remains far from the top spots in the ranking.

Finally, from spots 80 to 100, the only quarterback featured is former Alabama standout and current Miami Dolphins leader, Tua Tagovailoa. He’s hoping to stay fully healthy and avoid concussions this season in order to climb out of his current position at No. 91.

Spots yet to be revealed

While several spots in the ranking have yet to be revealed by the league, it’s clear that some high-profile players will be featured among the top positions of this prestigious list.

Patrick Mahomes, Josh Allen, Lamar Jackson, and Joe Burrow are just a few of the many players who are likely to be among the top places, though at this point, it’s hard to say which one will come out on top.
