Jerry Jones is facing yet another major controversy with the Dallas Cowboys. Micah Parsons has requested a trade due to the team owner not offering him the contract extension he was expecting.

However, despite all the criticism he has received, Jones confirmed that the full story hasn’t been told. “I think, the world of Micah. That’s just part of negotiation. What you all don’t know is what I offered him and it’s a hell of a lot more than you think I did. That’s what you don’t know.”

After Jones gave massive contract extensions to Dak Prescott and CeeDee Lamb, Parsons now wants a deal that would make him the highest-paid non-quarterback in NFL history.

Will Micah Parsons be traded by the Dallas Cowboys?

No. Jerry Jones has confirmed that he has no intention of trading Micah Parsons and even said he could solve the issue with a handshake, just like when he bought the team.

In response to the criticism for allegedly avoiding Parsons’ agent, Jones has a very clear answer regarding his approach to the player before the trade request was made. “I reached, make no mistake about it. I reached. As always in any relationships or different moods at different times of your relationships. That’s what it is.”

Is Micah Parsons a free agent?

Micah Parsons is not a free agent. He remains under contract with the Dallas Cowboys and is still playing under the terms of his rookie deal. Despite trade rumors and reported frustrations over his contract situation, he has not yet reached free agency.

He is expected to become a free agent after the 2025 season, unless he signs an extension before then. The star wants at least $40 million per year considering that’s the new benchmark set by T.J. Watt and Myles Garrett. Jones assured that he will not give up until he secures the necessary deal for the team.

“I’ve chosen to do this for my life. This is important to me. To spend the time that I spend doing it. It’s important to get the job done in a way that fits what we need to do as a team. So, if everybody had the ability to take an existing contract and just say, ‘I disregard it’. This league would be chaos.”
