Chicago Fire FC is fully prepared to compete in the new MLS is Back tournament starting on July 8th at theESPN Wide World of Sports Complex onWalt Disney World Resort in Orlando, Florida. After spending the last couple of weeks training, the team is ready to focus on their preliminary round games.

The 2020 MLS schedule was unveiled and Chicago Fire wereoriginally drawn in Group A with Orlando City SC, Inter Miami FC, NYCFC, Nashville SC and Philadelphia Union.The Fire were going toplay their first game on July 8th against Nashville SC. However, the game was postponed as theleague announcedthatfive of Nashville’s players have tested positive for Covid-19. A few days later, MLS confirmed Nashville SC withdrew from the tournament, becoming the second team to exit after FC Dallas.

The league made the decision to move Chicago Fire to Group B to fill the spot left by FC Dallas. This way, the Fire will share the group with Seattle Sounders, Vancouver Whitecaps and San Jose Earthquakes.Although they are not the favorites to win the group, the team is ready to defy the odds and compete for a placein the knockout stage.

That’s why the team will open its campaign againstSeattle Sounders on Tuesday, July 14 (10:00AM ET time). The Fire will continue against San Jose Earthquakes on Sunday, July 19 (9:00PM ET time) and finsh vs. Vancouver Whitecaps on Thursday, July 23 (9:00AM ET time).

The Round of 16will take place from July 25ht to July 28th. The tournament continues with the quarterfinals (July 30th to August 1st), then the semifinals (August 5th & 6th) and the ‘MLS is Back’Final (August 11th).
