The Rutgers Scarlet Knights have two of the best prospects in all of college basketball. However, as high as Ace Bailey’s ceiling is, Dylan Harper might be more of a sure thing.
In 27 appearances, the younger son of former NBA champion Ron Harper posted averages of 19.1 points, 4.4 rebounds, 4.0 assists, 1.8 three-pointers, and 1.4 steals on 49% shooting and 35% from three-point range.
That’s why ESPN’s NBA Draft expert Jeremy Woo believes he’s the second-best player in the nation, and only Duke’s Cooper Flagg should be ahead of him in the rankings.
Dylan Harper is second to only Cooper Flagg, says Expert
“Before we do postseason deep dives, I think he should be [No.] 2. Isn’t he what everyone is looking for? An offensive orchestrator with size. An oversized handler surrounded with shooting and interior defense—he’s just so dynamic. You can build a successful offense around the guy,“ wrote Woo.

Of course, this seems to be a situation in which a team simply can’t go wrong. Then again, position and fit also matter, and that’s what might make him fall to No. 3 or No. 4, depending on what team makes the pick.
