Shaquille O’Neal breaks the silence after being hired as Sacramento State’s new GM

NBA legend Shaquille O'Neal has taken the reins of the Sacramento State basketball program, and he wants to take it to never-before-seen heights.

If there’s someone who knows a thing or two about basketball, that’s most definitely Shaquille O’Neal. Moreover, he certainly knows how to run a business, and he doesn’t do things half-heartedly.

O’Neal is a man of many talents and occupations. But even though he doesn’t have a lot of free time, he still decided to embark on a new mission to be the general manager for the Sacramento State Hornets.

The 53-year-old and four-time NBA champion will look to bring a struggling program to life, and he believes that it will be crucial to build a winning culture within the locker room.

I know what it takes to build a winning culture,” the Hall of Famer said. “This is about more than the banners and trophies, but preparing those student-athletes for life on and off the court.”

Notably, the legendary big man volunteered to be the GM, so it’s not about money. He will focus on recruiting players, marketing, and player development on and off the court.
