The first time the Houston Astros played in a World Series was in 2005, they played in that World Series after winning the NLCS (The Astros previously played in the NL) against the St. Louis Cardinals. But sadly the Astros lost in the 2005 World Series to the Chicago White Sox. Another loss in the World Series was against the Washington Nationals in the 2019 season.

How many World Series have the Astros won?

The answer is short, the Astros have won only one World Series during the 2017 season. On that occasion the Houston Astros played the Los Angeles Dodgers in a controversial World Series that was affected by what was called the “Houston Astros Sign Scandal.” The Astros were charged with cheating during the 2017 World Series, they were formally accused of stealing signals during the World Series against the Dodgers.

But despite the case against the Houston Astros, the MLB decided not to take away the 2017 World Series title from them, but players from other teams were upset with the decision, including athletes from other sports like LeBron James who dropped a tweet against the Astros.
