The outspoken and controversial pitcher is coming off a career year and just won the National League Cy Young award. He led the Cincinnati Reds to the postseason and was pretty much flawless for most of the year.

Now, he’s been doing his due research on, well, pretty much every single team that he’s been tied to in the past couple of months, which is almost half of the ballclubs in Major League Baseball, to be honest.

Los Angeles Angels Leading The Race For Trevor Bauer

However, a team that’s always been among Bauer’s top picks is the Los Angeles Angels. They have a new General Manager inPerry Minasian and he’s reportedly willing to spend big bucks to finally put an end to their struggles.

That’s why MLB Network’s Jon Heyman believes that the Angels are the most likely team to sign Bauer, even ahead of the New York Yankees because of his difficult relationship with former UCLA teammate Gerrit Cole:

“The Angels will make the most sense (…) the Angels obviously need to do something big (…) and the Yankees don’t have the lead like the Angels do,” Heyman said during his appearance on ‘Hot Stove’.

Also, the Chicago White Sox and San Francisco Giants could try and make a late push for his services, but with the Angels determined to finally make the most of Mike Trout, they’re likely to outbid every single other franchise interested in adding a top-tier pitcher like Bauer.

Certainly, it’s been a shame to see the Angels waste Mike Trout’s prime and it feels like it’s now or never. They have a decent core and one of the greatest players of all time on their roster, so they better pull the trigger.
