The Philadelphia Phillies will have plenty to negotiate once the season ends — especially with one of their players appearing in a newly released Top 10 list pulled from an article by MLB insider Jim Bowden for The Athletic, which ranks 25 potential free agents.
While Bowden’s original list runs much deeper than ten names, the focus here is on the top tier — the players most likely to dominate the MLB offseason market and spark intense bidding wars.
At No. 1 is not a Phillie but Cubs star Kyle Tucker, whom Bowden projects to be the most sought-after free agent in this class — potentially landing a contract worth around half a billion dollars.
Who are the two Phillies in the Top 10?
Among the most coveted names heading into free agency is Kyle Schwarber, ranked fourth overall, riding one of the best seasons of his career. Joining him is left-hander Ranger Suárez, who recently returned from injury and has the numbers to warrant Top 10 consideration.

Kyle Schwarber #12 of the Philadelphia Phillies celebrates his solo home run in the seventh inning against the Arizona Diamondbacks during a game at Citizens Bank Park on May 02, 2025 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
Schwarber and Suárez are not the only two Phillies on Bowden’s long list. His analysis also includes J.T. Realmuto in the 20th spot, highlighting him as a veteran catcher who could also draw attention from other teams.
“Age is catching up with Realmuto, who won Gold Glove and Silver Slugger awards in 2022 but has been in decline since,” Bowden wrote. “However, he still holds his own offensively and defensively. His framing and blocking skills are now well below average, but he’s praised for his game-calling, and pitchers love throwing to him.”
