James Harden has started the new NBA season on the wrong foot, with issues about his weight and his desire to stay in Houston. Things got even worse when on Tuesday a video surfaced showing Harden at a strip club and in direct violation of NBA COVID-19 protocol.

The league as a result immediately announced the cancellation of the game between the Rockets and Thunder and announced that Harden would be fined $50,000 for his actions. Harden took to social media to defend himself stating that he had attended a party of a friend who was recently promoted and thought that he was following the proper protocol. Although the video suggest otherwise.

This fine is yet another episode of early season drama between James Hardenand the Houston Rockets, as earlier in the season Harden made it known that he would like to leave Houston to have a chance to compete for a championship.

For Harden and the Rockets, it’s another distracting episode of an already difficult offseason. The Rockets will now face the Trail Blazers on the 27th of December and for Harden it might be the last straw that forces a trade.
