While the NBA’s all-time leading scorer has yet to make a formal announcement, reports suggest his post-retirement path could lead him to a prominent role with one of the league’s new media partners.

According to Front Office Sports, LeBron’s strong business relationship with Amazon could pave the way for him to join Prime Video’s NBA coverage, which launches next season as part of the league’s upcoming media rights agreement.

The connection between James and Amazon has strengthened in recent years. He currently hosts Mind the Game, a basketball show on Prime Video alongside Steve Nash. More recently, he appeared in Amazon’s campaign for Prime Day 2025, hinting that his involvement with the platform may grow once his playing days are over.

In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, the Lakers star praised Amazon’s direction and the group of legends joining its NBA coverage. “First of all, when I thought of the (analyst) lineup that they chose — legends like Dwayne Wade, Dirk Nowitzki, Steve Nash, Candice Parker — [Prime Video] is going to automatically be put in a position of great things,” LeBron noted. “[With them, Prime Video] has so much knowledge and [so many] people that know the game and appreciate the game and talk about the game in such a positive manner”.

“So, I think Amazon Prime Video, they’re gonna do a great job showcasing our sport; [the talent] love(s) our sport,” he continued. “Great intellect, great commentary, great insight — I really look forward to that. And like I said, those guys that they have signed up for it, they’re gonna do great things”.

While James has not officially confirmed any plans for life after basketball, his growing involvement with Amazon—and his vocal support of its NBA coverage—continues to fuel speculation about a high-profile transition to broadcasting.
