Lakers star LeBron James talks about his teammate’s return: ‘I’m just happy to have him back’

The Los Angeles Lakers are in one of their best moments this season, establishing themselves as NBA contenders. Rob Pelinka’s trade moves paid off, with Luka Doncic emerging as a leader. However, LeBron James recently praised another teammate for his return to the team.

The Los Angeles Lakers reshaped their roster by adding Luka Doncic, Maxi Kleber, and Markieff Morris. Rob Pelinka’s move proved to be a smart decision. After these changes, the Lakers emerged as one of the top NBA title contenders. Luka Doncic quickly adapted to the team and has established himself as the new offensive leader. Although Doncic stole the spotlight, LeBron James made a surprising statement about Markieff Morris’ return.

I missed him…We’ve been in the foxhole together. We’ve been on the floor during big games together. And there’s someone whose opinion I value very much when I come off the floor. He’s watching it. He’s seeing it. I’m just happy to have him back. It’s great to see him,” stated LeBron James on Los Angeles Times.

Although LeBron is pleased with Markieff Morris’ return, Morris has not seen much playing time with the Lakers. His last appearance came on February 12 against the Utah Jazz, where he struggled to make an impact.

Despite limited playing time, Markieff Morris’ experience and leadership could prove vital for the Lakers as they chase another championship. Having already won a title with the team and earning LeBron James’ support, Morris holds an authoritative voice in the locker room. His presence can be key to maintaining unity during tense moments.

Additionally, his defensive skills could become crucial in high-pressure playoff situations. Morris’ experience in those critical games gives him an edge over some of the younger players on the roster.

“I think it’s very valuable to have a guy like that, a voice, an older voice, someone who’s seen it all in the NBA, someone who’s won a championship, obviously that helps as well,” stated Redick on Los Angeles Times.

Besides, Redick revealed that Morris has played a key role in maintaining positive energy on the bench. He also highlighted Morris’ leadership as an important factor for the team.
