By beating the Miami Heat and winning their 17 NBA Championship, the Los Angeles Lakers have now officially tied the Boston Celtics as the winningest team in the history of the NBA Finals.

LeBron James lived up to his promise of leading the Lakers back to the top of the world, while it was made clear that trading away multiple assets and picks for Anthony Davis was worth it, even if he ends up leaving the team.

The purple-and-gold were one of the teams to beat since the start of the season and, contrary to what his doubters thought, they were able to go the distance and get the job done even if it wasn’t always pretty.

Frank Vogel’s pupils were always in control of the situation and the Lakers had a 28-point lead after two quarters. Then, they never took their feet off the gas en route to an impressive106-93win.

NBA fans constantly bashed Kentavious Caldwell-Pope, Danny Green, and Kyle Kuzma,all year long for their offensive struggles, even filing petitions to ban them from getting a ring, yet they all played a huge part in the team’s seventeenth NBA Championship.
