The Phoenix Suns are not having their best NBA season. Currently sitting in 11th place in the Western Conference, the team has struggled with inconsistent performances that have kept them out of play-in contention. However, the Suns possess a solid roster that holds strong potential for the future. For this reason, the franchise may have made a significant decision regarding Devin Booker‘s role moving forward.

According to Tim MacMahon, the Phoenix Suns will build their future around Devin Booker. They have decided to make him the cornerstone of their project. To achieve this, the Suns will look to acquire key players. Their goal is to build a stronger roster that can compete at a higher level alongside Booker. The 28-years-old guard is the second maximum shooter of the team just behind Kevin Durant with 25.9 points per game.

Devin Booker has impressed with both his shooting and playmaking skills. He leads the team in assists, averaging 6.8 per game. Alongside Kevin Durant, Booker stands out as one of the team’s key players. He has already shown his ability to lead the offense. Booker steps up when Durant is sidelined or struggles to perform.

The Phoenix Suns are already preparing for their future without Kevin Durant. His long-term presence with the team is uncertain. Durant is now 36 years old, which adds to the concerns. Despite still showing flashes of brilliance, the Suns know they must improve their long-term project to stay competitive.
