The referees are getting out of control. At some point, the NBA will have to fine them, suspend them, or fire them, because this is just getting ridiculous. It seems like every other game, officials find the way to be the center of attention with some of their blatant and outrageous mistakes.
It can be no-calls, it can be out-of-bounds calls, it can be a flagrant foul that wasn’t. Whatever the case is, NBA referees always get it wrong. They get paid a lot of money to do their job, yet they can’t get the right call to save their lives.
And if that wasn’t enough, it seems like players can’t even look at them anymore without getting a technical foul. It happened the other day when JJ Redick spun the ball when it passed it to a referee, and it happened last night to Devin Booker.

Phoenix Suns and Los Angeles Lakers were going back-and-forth in an exciting game, with Booker leading all scorers with 17 points in the middle of the third quarter. Then, he got a soft technical for arguing with a rival but never as soft as the one he got later.

This is just ridiculous. We’re talking about an All-Star during a game between two of the strongest teams in the Western Conference and this could have shifted momentum in favor of the Lakers.
At the end of the day, the league is likely going to issue a report on this matter but it’s too late already. Unless they start holding referees accountable for these unacceptable mistakes, this will continue to happen.
