Being a Cincinnati Bengals‘ fan must be a rollercoaster. On one side, you have Joe Burrow as your quarterback and weapons like Ja’Marr Chase and Tee Higgins. On the other, your first-round pick hasn’t signed his NFL rookie deal and training camps are underway. Oh, and your best defensive player is in Florida as contract talks have reached an impasse. However, the team could still add a new face to help the offense.

Jordan Schultz, a very well-known NFL insider, reported that the Bengals will host veteran tight end Noah Fant this week. Fant, who is only 27 years old, was released by the Seattle Seahawks. Since then, there’s been multiple teams interested on his talents.

Cincy will get the first visit. Fant will enter his seventh season as a pro after having 3-year stints at Denver and Seattle. Fant arrived in the NFL back in 2019 with hype surrounding his name. Despite him not being able to fulfill his potential, he is still very young and can turn his career around.

Fant could help the Bengals in a known way

A few years ago, the Bengals had tight end C.J. Uzomah on their roster. While Uzomah wasn’t Travis Kelce, he had big games as he could exploit the openings that defenses left for him. Ja’Marr Chase and Tee Higgins will draw plenty of attention from the defenses, and if you, as a tight end, can find those holes, Burrow will find you.

Fant is coming off a 500-yard season with one touchdown to his name. He played on 14 games, starting nine of them. Fant is in what could be a career-defining year for him. He either enters his prime or starts being a nomad in the NFL, it’s as simple as that.

The Bengals have lots to prove this season

Usually, if you have one of the best quarterbacks in the NFL, you should be at least in the playoffs. However, this team is having a two-year drought regarding the postseason. The Bengals needs to step up.

Not only is it a sporting thing, but they are tied to huge contracts for them just to miss the playoffs. At this point, head coach Zac Taylor might be on the hot seat as well. Taylor has nurtured his career to this point thanks to what Burrow has done, but the questions about his coaching ability have never been settled.
