The NFL offseason is in full swing, with free agency reshaping rosters across the league. One of the most notable moves came when DeMarcus Lawrence left the Dallas Cowboys to join the Seattle Seahawks, teaming up with quarterback Sam Darnold. The decision took many by surprise, including Cowboys wide receiver CeeDee Lamb, who had a stunned reaction upon learning the news.

As Dallas looks to bolster its roster in free agency, losing a key defensive piece like Lawrence presents a challenge. With Dak Prescott and Lamb aiming for a stronger campaign next season, the Cowboys must find a way to fill the void. Fans share that concern after last season’s disappointing finish.

Lamb, however, found out about Lawrence’s departure in an unexpected way. While live streaming, he was caught off guard when a group chat notification delivered the news.

Lamb’s new deal with the Cowboys

Dallas Cowboys star wide receiver has secured his future with the team, agreeing to a restructured contract that provides financial flexibility for the franchise. While Lamb drew interest from multiple teams, Cowboys owner Jerry Jones acted quickly to ensure he remained in Dallas under new terms.

As part of the restructure, Lamb freed up $20 million in salary cap space, extending his deal through the next three seasons. The 2024 season marked the first year of his original four-year contract, and with this adjustment, his total earnings will now reach $116 million.

Lamb joins quarterback Dak Prescott, who remains one of the highest-paid players in the NFL with a $240 million contract. Meanwhile, Cowboys defensive standout Micah Parsons is reportedly in negotiations for a new deal, which is expected to be finalized in the coming weeks.

Lamb responds to fan’s criticism of his contract

While some viewed Lamb’s restructured contract as unfavorable for the player, the receiver had a different perspective. In response to a fan questioning the decision on social media, suggesting it was “dumb” to accept such terms, Lamb made his priorities clear. “I want to win. It’s going to take more than just myself,” he replied, emphasizing his commitment to team success over individual financial gain.
