Year after year, the NFL drives away some fans from the sport because of the way they're enforcing the rules. The players can't celebrate after a big play, everything is - or isn't? - pass interference, and the referees are simply atrocious.

That trend isn't likely to change any time soon. If anything, it'll only get worst. If you don't take our word for it, just watch how the referees are throwing flags left and right every time a player celebrates after a play.

These new taunting rules are simply ridiculous and go against the very spirit of competitiveness. However, New York Giants owner John Mara says that the members of the 'Competition Committee'' are 'sick and tired' of it.

John Mara Says They're 'Sick And Tired Of The Taunting'

“That’s something we discuss every year in the Competition Committee,” Mara said, as quoted by NBC Sports. “We get kind of sick and tired of the taunting that does go on from time to time on the field. We tried to balance the sportsmanship with allowing the players to have fun and there’s always a fine line there, but none of us like to see that. It’s just a question of whether you can have rules that can be enforced and without taking the fun out of the game too, but nobody wants to see a player taunting another player. I know, I certainly don’t. I think the rest of the members of the Competition Committee feel the same way, too.”

Basically, the owners want the players to just shut up and play as if they were inside a videogame, just because THEY don't like it. Hell, even Madden lets you celebrate every now and then after steamrolling over the defense or getting a huge stop.

There's a big difference between sportsmanlike taunting and making fun of your rival and it's actually not that hard to tell when it's one or the other. The referees - and these people who clearly didn't play sports a day of their lives - are killing the essence of sports and then complain because people don't enjoy their product anymore.
