Led by quarterback Joe Burrow, the Cincinnati Bengals have had a competitive training camp heading into the 2025 NFL season. With an evolving offense and a strong focus on modernizing their aerial attack, the franchise is benefitting from multiple weapons, one of which nearly ended up with Tua Tagovailoa’s Miami Dolphins.
Finding a free agent with experience at this point in the preseason is rare, so the Bengals are taking advantage of this stage to add another name to their offense. The team recently brought in veteran tight end Mike Gesicki to boost their offensive production.
Tagovailoa and the Dolphins are dealing with injuries in the secondary, forcing Miami to shift its focus to the defensive side, while Burrow and the Bengals took action and moved quickly to secure a player who was close to heading to Miami.
The Bengals’ newest addition
The newest addition to Cincinnati is none other than Noah Fant, a former first-round pick by the Denver Broncos in 2019 and a six-year NFL veteran, who is expected to sign a one-year deal. The news was reported by insider Adam Schefter on his X account (formerly Twitter).

Noah Fant during his stint in the Seahawks
The link to the Dolphins lies in the fact that the 27-year-old tight end visited Miami before finalizing his deal with Cincinnati. However, they didn’t move forward with the signing. Fant also met with the New Orleans Saints. In the end, the Bengals came away with a win.
