The Buffalo Bills have held the AFC East crown for some time now, establishing themselves as the division’s dominant force. However, heading into the new season, their rivals are gearing up to challenge that supremacy and return to the spotlight. Josh Allen is fully aware of the growing competition, knowing he’ll be facing serious contenders aiming to make their mark in the NFL.

One of those challengers is Drake Maye, the young talent now under the guidance of Mike Vrabel in New England. The former North Carolina standout is expected to take over as the Patriots’ starting quarterback in this new era in Foxborough, aiming to lead his team back to the top of the division.

In a recent media session, Allen had high praise for his fellow quarterback, expressing admiration for Maye’s game and voicing his belief that he has what it takes to do great things in New England.

ā€œI think Drake is super talented, he’s one of my favorite young quarterbacks in the league,ā€ Allen told Sports Illustrated’s Liam McKeone. ā€œI’ve spent some time around him and he’s got his head on his shoulders the right way. He just does things the right way. I think that he exemplifies football.ā€

Diggs becomes Maye’s go-to guy in New England

Stefon Diggs was a key piece in Josh Allen’s success with the Bills for three seasons, and now the veteran wide receiver will be one of the new faces in the Patriots’ offense. Allen believes Diggs’ presence will be a major asset for Drake Maye and the rest of the New England squad.

ā€œI think he brings a lot of security for Drake,ā€ Allen said of Diggs. ā€œObviously, having the knowledge of playing in the league for so long, he has that veteran mentorship that he can give to Drake.ā€
