Time keeps passing, and Micah Parsons remains without a new contract. Frustrated by the ongoing silence from the Dallas Cowboys, the star pass rusher has issued an ultimatum to Jerry Jones and the team regarding his future.

The 2025 offseason has been anything but smooth for Parsons. Despite being widely regarded as the best player on the Cowboys roster, he still hasn’t received the contract extension many believe he’s earned.

Parsons wants to become the highest-paid player at his position, but Dallas has yet to move forward with negotiations. With no progress in sight, the All-Pro defender is growing increasingly frustrated.

The Cowboys now find themselves in a difficult spot with one of their biggest stars. While the front office has already extended Dak Prescott and CeeDee Lamb, a new deal for Parsons has yet to materialize.

Many fans consider Parsons the most impactful player the team has had in years. His consistent elite performances have made him a cornerstone of the defense—but the club’s reluctance to lock him down long-term has raised eyebrows.

Although reports suggest Jerry Jones still plans to offer Parsons an extension before the season, the delay has sparked concern. In response, Parsons has made it clear he expects a deal soon—and has hinted that Dallas may not be the only option on the table.

Parsons admitted he doesn’t understand why the Cowboys are dragging their feet. While he remains hopeful a deal will get done, his comments suggest he’s also preparing for the possibility of leaving if the situation doesn’t improve.

Could Micah Parsons leave the Cowboys?

The current standoff is far from ideal for Dallas. As time goes on, Parsons’ value continues to rise—and he knows it. The longer the Cowboys wait, the more leverage he gains.

If no agreement is reached, Parsons will likely play the 2025 season under the franchise tag. Then, in 2026, he would become a free agent, free to negotiate with any team willing to meet his demands.
