NFL News: Aaron Rodgers could reportedly still make shocking decision about next team between Vikings and Steelers

In another late twist, Aaron Rodgers is reportedly weighing a stunning choice between two very different paths. Joining the rising Pittsburgh Steelers or taking a chance on the Minnesota Vikings, a team that's already handed the reins to rookie J.J. McCarthy.

Aaron Rodgers is still considering the Minnesota Vikings as a possible option, according to a report by Adam Schefter. As the weeks go by, it’s becoming clear that the veteran knows this is his best opportunity to win the Super Bowl.

“I think part of the delay is waiting to see if something does come open. Like, all of a sudden, there’s a change of thought (with Vikings about J.J. McCarthy). They decide that they’re going to move in that direction, whatever it may be. So, as long as he hasn’t made a decision, he does have some hope that could suddenly open up.”

However, in something that has become repetitive over the past few days, Rodgers also understands that the only offer currently on the table is from the Pittsburgh Steelers. The Vikings are not interested in signing him.

Who is the Vikings’ starting quarterback now?

J.J. McCarthy is the starting quarterback for the Minnesota Vikings, and that won’t change at least until the start of the preseason. What is certain is that, despite the risk this involves, Aaron Rodgers might be willing to wait for a major shakeup within Kevin O’Connell’s team.

It’s important to remember that, earlier this week, Albert Breer confirmed that Rodgers offered himself to the Vikings, surprisingly agreeing to serve as a mentor to McCarthy in exchange for the opportunity to play one year as the starter in Minnesota. However, O’Connell did not accept.
