During the 2025 offseason, the Kansas City Chiefs of the head coach Andy Reid have focused their efforts on strengthening their offensive line, aiming to better protect their star quarterback, Patrick Mahomes. In line with that strategy, the Missouri franchise made a key move in the NFL Draft by adding a new face to their roster.

Mahomes had already gained a new teammate when the Chiefs selected offensive tackle Josh Simmons from Ohio State with the final pick of the first round (No. 32 overall) of the NFL Draft. However, in the second round, Kansas City made another significant move.

Under head coach Reid, the Chiefs are aiming to solidify their dominance in the AFC and make another push for a Super Bowl appearance. Following the selection of Simmons, Kansas City has added another new rookie to the roster, with Mahomes once again set to lead the offense.

The Chiefs made a key move by acquiring the No. 85 pick in the NFL Draft through a trade with the New England Patriots. With that selection, Kansas City drafted cornerback Nohl Williams out of the University of California.

Williams will join Mahomes at the Chiefs after beginning his college career at UNLV before transferring to Cal in 2023. In his final college football season, he stood out by earning All-American honors. Over the course of his career, he totaled 14 interceptions, 38 passes defended, and 3 forced fumbles across 52 games.

Williams has an outstanding physique, standing at 6-foot-3 and weighing 198 pounds. His game is highlighted by his aggressiveness at the line of scrimmage and his ability to hold his own in one-on-one situations. While his long-distance speed is average, his physical traits and instinctive skills could be a great fit in the Chiefs’ defensive scheme under coordinator Steve Spagnuolo.
