The Pittsburgh Steelers are becoming one of the most active franchises in the NFL offseason and recently announced the signing of wide receiver DK Metcalf, who will join head coach Mike Tomlin‘s team after a standout tenure with the Seattle Seahawks.

Having a key weapon on offense is something the Steelers struggled with last season. George Pickens and the rest of the receivers showed an up-and-down performance that mirrored the team’s overall slump on last season, which ended with a losing streak before they were eliminated in the Wild Card round by the Baltimore Ravens.

Tomlin will have in Metcalf a potentially dangerous player for opposing defenses, who recorded 66 receptions for 992 yards and five touchdowns in 15 games with the Seahawks last season. The 27-year-old receiver had spent his entire career in Seattle and has now said goodbye to his former team.

“Thank you for taking a kid from Mississippi and making him feel at home in the Pacific Northwest. From the city to the organization to the 12s— you’ve been more than just a fanbase. You’ve been family. You’ve given me so much, including the chance to play the game I love alongside some incredible men who will forever be my brothers,” Metcalf posted on his Instagram account about his departure from Seahawks.
