Though in position to fight for the AFC North title, Pittsburgh’s season has been far from a walk in the park. Ahead of Week 14 in the NFL, fans are growing impatient as the team sits just outside of the playoff picture with a 6-6 record. Hoping to calm the waters, wide receiver DK Metcalf addressed the media with a powerful comment on Tomlin.



“[Tomlin is] a man I hold in high regard with how he carries himself and how he takes a lot of criticism. He comes in here and he’s still a great leader. Any fan who tunes into a Steelers game in the 2025 <a href="https://bolavip.com/en/nfl">NFL</a> season can see Rodgers and the rest of the offense have looked out of rhythm. Being in the middle of the rankings could indicate the Steelers have been average this season. That’s never what the fanbase wants to see from a team—especially one featuring stars like Metcalf, a future Hall of Fame quarterback in Rodgers, and being led by a Super Bowl-winning mastermind in Tomlin.



<h2>What’s next for the Steelers?</h2>



Tied with the Baltimore Ravens at the top of the AFC North, the next matchup could prove decisive. In Week 14 of the 2025 NFL season, Rodgers and the Steelers will travel to Charm City for a pivotal meeting with Lamar Jackson and company. 



The winner will take hold of first place in the division with four games to go in the campaign. According to NFL.com, the Steelers’ playoff odds would rise to 62% with a win over the Ravens. A loss in Maryland, on the other hand, would drop them to 17%.

Rodgers and Pittsburgh must wipe away all memories from their past game as they head to Baltimore. After the Steelers struggled to put together drives during the cold afternoon game against the Bills, they will gear up to do it all over again in a bone-chilling environment at M&amp;T Bank Stadium. 



According to AccuWeather, the forecast for Sunday in Baltimore calls for a high of 42.8°F (6°C) and lows of about 26.6°F (−3°C). All signs indicate snow won’t be a factor when the Ravens and Steelers square off, though much can change until Sunday.

However, in a shocking twist, he was traded to Pittsburgh for a second round and a seventh round pick. There, he signed a five-year extension.

During Week 1, Metcalf was absolutely unstoppable. He caught four passes for 83 yards and created a couple of highlights in the process. One of them, he caught a deflected ball while already sliding on the turf.

Metcalf is the clear-cut number one receiver on the team. Now, neither Smith-Njigba nor Kupp bring Metcalf’s skillset to life, they are very different receivers. If the Seahawks can’t find a new physical, deep threat, they will miss Metcalf, but the season needs to unfold to see if that’s the case.

Watt</a> is ready to add another double-digit-sack season to his Hall of Fame career, Cam Heyward is a veteran, but the defensive tackle still made All Pro last season. In the middle of the field, the linebacker corp is filled with good players too. Patrick Queen is fresh off a 129-tackle season with a Pro Bowl selection included. Payton Wilson, Malik Harrison and Cole Holcomb are good depth-pieces to have as well.

After months of speculation, it looks like he’s finally decided to join the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Even though Rodgers is not in his prime, he will still be the best possible signal-caller. Rodgers is not the only name added on offense for the Steelers. Actually, the team has been rather active bringing new faces and shipping away some others. The most notable name to arrive in Steel City (besides A-Rod) is <a href="https://bolavip.com/en/topic/dk-metcalf" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">D.K. Metcalf</a>, a former Pro-Bowl WR that comes from Seattle.

With this, the new lineup for the Steelers should be very talented. Rodgers might not be a top 3 QB anymore, but he still has precision and high football IQ. He should be accurate enough to be dangerous.

The Steelers suffered a big blow losing TE Donald Parham Jr. for the season due to an Achilles tear. Good news is their best tight end, Pat Freiermuth, is ready to have a big season. As a backup, reliable veteran Darnell Washington will see some snaps as well.



In the running game, <a href="https://bolavip.com/en/topic/najee-harris" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Najee Harris</a> left to the Chargers, which made Jaylen Warren the undisputed RB1 of the team. His explosiveness will be backed up by rookie Kaleb Johnson and Super Bowl-winning veteran Kenneth Gainwell.



There are no excuses for offensive coordinator Arthur Smith to not make this offense work. The Steelers had the 23rd-ranked total offense last season in Smith’s first year as Pittsburgh’s OC.

Aaron Rodgers has yet to make a decision about his future, but he appears to have <a href="https://bolavip.com/en/nfl/nfl-news-aaron-rodgers-reportedly-has-just-one-realistic-option-between-steelers-vikings-and-retirement">just one realistic option between the Pittsburgh Steelers, Minnesota Vikings or retirement</a> from the NFL. And chances are that he ends up throwing passes to DK Metcalf and George Pickens on Mike Tomlin‘s watch in 2025.



But his arrival could help the <a href="https://bolavip.com/en/topic/pittsburgh-steelers">Steelers</a> get even more talent this offseason. According to Rich Cimini of ESPN, wide receiver Allen Lazard might be interested in leaving the New York Jets to reunite with Rodgers.



“Lazard could be waiting to see if a reunion with free agent quarterback Aaron Rodgers is possible before deciding on the Jets’ proposal,” wrote Cimini, who reported that Lazard would have to take a pay cut to stay in NY.



<h2>Will Lazard reunite with Rodgers again?</h2>



Lazard, 29, was one of many players who followed <a href="https://bolavip.com/en/topic/aaron-rodgers">Rodgers</a> from the Green Bay Packers to the Jets in 2023. But now that A-Rod left the Big Apple, the wideout might be interested in packing his bags as well.

The Steelers landed the star wide receiver via trade from the Seattle Seahawks, giving a huge boost to a WR room that already counted on the likes of Pickens and Calvin Austin.

According to Mike Garafolo of NFL Network, Rodgers recently worked out with Steelers wide receiver <a href="https://bolavip.com/en/topic/dk-metcalf">DK Metcalf</a>, with the duo having a throwing session over the weekend at UCLA.



“Over the weekend at UCLA, he threw to DK Metcalf. They did have a throwing session. The two of them together, according to sources, informed of that workout,” reported Garafolo, noting that it could help Rodgers decide whether the <a href="https://bolavip.com/en/topic/pittsburgh-steelers">Steelers</a> are the right fit for him in 2025.



“So Rodgers going through the process and checking all the boxes. And I assume it was a good throwing session there with him and Metcalf. So we’ll see if that leads to him saying, you know what? Yeah, I’m fully in. I like that guy. I like that target right there,” Garafolo added.

<h2>Tomlin, Steelers got Metcalf before Rodgers</h2>



Metcalf, 27, joined the Steelers via trade this offseason after spending his first six years in the <a href="https://bolavip.com/en/nfl">NFL</a> with the Seattle Seahawks, who got a second-round and a seventh-round pick in the 2025 NFL Draft in return.

Metcalf could already prove impactful if he helps to persuade Rodgers. At 41, the quarterback is contemplating the best option for his future, and his recent throwing session with the wideout could give him a glimpse of what to expect in Pittsburgh.



A positive workout could make Rodgers feel optimistic about a potential move to the Steelers, where Tomlin and company are waiting for him with open arms. If A-Rod feels there’s a legitimate chance to contend, the move could be possible.



<h2>Tomlin giving Rodgers the time he needs</h2>



This is not the first action that directly links Rodgers to the Steelers though, as the veteran quarterback visited the team’s facility earlier in March. <a href="https://bolavip.com/en/topic/mike-tomlin">Tomlin</a>, however, declined to predict whether Rodgers will ultimately join his team.



“It’s been reported that he spent a day with us, and it was a really good day. Specifically he and I obviously have known of each other for some time, and so it was really good to spend some time together man and get to know each other more intimately, but it is free agency. It is a process. I have nothing of any more significance to add other than that,” Tomlin told reporters at the NFL owner’s meetings on Sunday.

Both Pickens and Metcalf have the opportunity to be key weapons in the Steelers’ offense. The former Seahawks player has arrived to replace Najee Harris, who will continue his career with the Los Angeles Chargers.
