NFL News: Jerry Jones’ Cowboys lose key defensive player to the Giants in a bold move

New York Giants made a quick move to acquire a defensive player from Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones for the 2025 NFL season.

The NFL offseason presents some interesting moves to keep an eye on. One of the teams that is the protagonist of the activity in this vibrant period is the Dallas Cowboys of owner Jerry Jones. On this occasion, America’s team lost a defensive player who will continue his career with the New York Giants.

The Cowboys are coming off a disappointing season in the NFL and are looking to improve their record in 2025 in order to fulfill the long-awaited expectation of a deep postseason run. To that end, Jones has already been active on the market. Not only are acquisitions important, but so are departures that strengthen key areas such as defense.

The Cowboys player who will play the 2025 NFL season with the Giants is defensive end Chauncey Golston, according to NFL Network. The 27-year-old player agreed to a three-year, $19.5 million contract with the New York franchise.

Golston has been with Jones’ Cowboys since 2021, when he joined the Dallas franchise as a third-round draft pick. He has been a rotational piece on the Dallas defensive line for three seasons. He had a career-best 5.5 catches last season.

Jerry Jones has already made an investment in the Cowboys’ roster

Despite departures like Golston’s, Jones has already begun adding new faces to the Cowboys’ roster with the goal of bolstering Dak Prescott’s offense. Head coach Brian Schottenheimer’s team made its first investment in free agency by signing running back Javonte Williams.
