The saga of Myles Garrett and the Cleveland Browns has finally come to an end. The talented player had informed management of his intentions to play for a competitive team next NFL season, and after several negotiations, the defensive end now has his future decided.

In an unexpected turn of events, Garrett and the Browns agreed to a contract extension worth an average of $40 million annually, with $123.5 million fully guaranteed, positioning him as the highest-paid non-quarterback in NFL history. The defensive end will continue to be the leader of the franchise in Cleveland.

The news was reported by NFL insider Adam Schefter, who, through his official X (formerly Twitter) account, announced the deal between the Browns and the former Texas A&M player.

Myles Garrett ended up surpassing Maxx Crosby

It is common in the NFL for the most exorbitant contracts to primarily go to quarterbacks. However, just a few days ago, new figures began to surface after contract extensions were signed at various positions within the roster.

Recently, Adam Schefter reported on Maxx Crosby’s contract renewal with the Las Vegas Raiders, making him the highest-paid player in the league who does not play the QB position.

Unfortunately for the Raiders’ star, the player who now holds that position as the highest-paid is Browns DE Myles Garrett, who, after lengthy negotiations with the franchise, secured a multimillion-dollar deal and will continue under the guidance of Kevin Stefanski.
