The Minnesota Vikings continue making moves to improve their offense as rumors point to Aaron Rodgers wanting to sign with the team. While waiting to see if that happens or not, Jordan Mason is their new running back, according to a report by Adam Schefter.
“Trade: 49ers are trading Jordan Mason to the Minnesota Vikings. Vikings are signing Mason to a 2-year deal with over $7 million fully guaranteed at signing with a maximum value of $12 million. Minnesota sends a 2026 6th-round pick and pick No. 160 this year to San Francisco. San Francisco sends RB Jordan Mason and pick No. 187 to Minnesota.”
The Vikings are definitely Super Bowl contenders with an offense that includes names like Justin Jefferson, Jordan Addison, and T.J. Hockenson. Additionally, with the arrival of Mason, the backfield is very deep alongside Aaron Jones.
Who will be Vikings’ starting quarterback?
J.J. McCarthy will be the starting quarterback for the Minnesota Vikings next season following Sam Darnold’s departure. However, Kevin O’Connell needs to sign another player for that position as a backup.
In this scenario, considering McCarthy is coming off a serious knee injury, several rumors point to Aaron Rodgers competing for the QB1 job. Despite that, insiders like Tom Pelissero have said that the Michigan prospect will be the starter.
