Seattle Seahawks fans started a campaign during the offseason urging coach Pete Carroll to ‘let Russ cook’, asking him to give the keys to the offense to Russell Wilson and move on from his historical run-heavy offense.
Well, turns out that NFL fans were right again, as the Seattle Seahawks have been an unstoppable offensive juggernaut to start the season now that Russell Wilson is throwing the football more than ever.
The former Super Bowl champion has been on a roll to start the season and defenses haven’t found the way to slow him down through three weeks. In fact, he put an exclamation point to his statement win vs. the Dallas Cowboys by breaking yet another NFL record.
Russell Wilson Is The First QB To Throw 4+ Passes In The First Three Games Of The Season
Wilson was on his bag all night long in their shootout vs. the Dallas Cowboys. He completed 27 of 40 passes for 315 yards, 5 touchdowns, and no interceptions, adding 6 rushes for 22 rushing yards.
With that line, Wilson has become the first quarterback in the history of the NFL to ever throw 4+ touchdown passes during his team’s first three games of the season, as reported by NFL Network’s Andrew Siciliano
Seahawks Offense Dominating The League
Even though Pete Carroll’s team were known by their defense and rushing attack, it’s been their offense what’s led them to a 3-0 record this season. In fact, their defense has been far from what we were used during the Legion of Boom era.
Thus far, the Seahawks are averaging 37 points per game, with Russell Wilson already throwing for 925 yards (on 76.7% completion percentage), 14 touchdowns, and just one interception. Simply unstoppable.
Now, following two straight tough matchups, the Seattle Seahawks will have a much easier time when they visit the struggling Miami Dolphins at Florida next Sunday for their Week 4 matchup.
