For the past couple of decades, there has been a never-ending debate about whoâs the greatest athlete of all time, or â as younger fans would say â the GOAT. Among the candidates, weâve often heard names like Roger Federer, Muhammad Ali, Wayne Gretzky, Babe Ruth; and â obviously â Tom Brady and Michael Jordan.
Jordan and Brady have gone back-and-forth on their GOAT status throughout the yearsbut theyâre two of the most likely athletes to be at the top of the list, according to most insiders, analysts, and even the fans.
But now, after what Tom Brady was able to do with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers at the ripe age of 43 years old, it seems like heâs finally taken a step forward in the GOAT conversation, even ahead of Michael Jordan.
Tom Brady Has Made The Super Bowl In More Than Half Of His Seasons
Brady led the Buccaneers to the Super Bowl after beating the Green Bay Packers on Sunday. Heâll now play in his 10th Super Bowl in 20 seasons (19 healthy) as a starter, which means heâs most likely to play in the ultimate game than Michael Jordan to hit a shot:
âTom Brady has gone to the Super Bowl 10 times in 19 healthy seasons as a starter (52.6%). Michael Jordan made 50.5% of the shots he took in his Bulls career.Brady is more likely to play in the Super Bowl every year than prime Jordan is to hit a shot,â StatMuse revealed.
I mean, thatâs the ultimate GOATish stat. Heâs more likely to make the Super Bowl than notand more likely to reach that stage than the greatest hooper of all time to hit a layup. If that doesnât settle the debate GOAT debate once and for all, thenI donât know what will.
