The Colorado Avalanche and general manager Chris MacFarland continue making moves in an effort to help Nathan MacKinnon in his quest to win the Stanley Cup.
Last season, that dream ended in a crushing defeat in the first round of the playoffs against the Dallas Stars. That’s why, to remain contenders in the West, this free agency period is crucial.
At the moment, the Edmonton Oilers remain the favorites to repeat as Western Conference champions, and of course, the Florida Panthers are leading all projections to conquer the three-peat heading into the 2025–26 season.
Who did the Colorado Avalanche sign?
The Colorado Avalanche just signed Josh Manson to a two-year contract extension. After confirming the deal that will keep the player until the 2027-2028 season, this was the reaction from the team’s general manager, Chris MacFarland.
“Josh has been an important member of our blue line since joining the team during the 2022 stretch run. He is a steady and tough defender who chips in on the offensive side at key times. He is also a veteran leader in our dressing room, and we are excited to have him under contract for another three seasons.”
