Uruguay vs Colombia: Confirmed lineups for Conmebol World Cup Qualifiers 2022

Uruguay will host Colombia at the Gran Parque Central Stadium today,October 3, for Matchday 11 of the Conmebol World Cup Qualifiers 2022. It will be a pivotal match between these two teams, who are just points away from each other in the standings.The game will be broadcast in the US by FuboTV.

The hosts are currently in the third place of the table with 15 points, just behind Argentina and Brazil. La Celeste won their two matches back in September. They beat Bolivia 4-2 at home and then got a tight win against Ecuador as visitors (0-1).

On the other hand, Colombia are fifth with 13 points in the standings, the same as Ecuador who are fourth. Los Cafeteros will want to take over Montevideo to get their second straight win in the tournament after they defeated Chile 3-1 in their last match.

Uruguay’s confirmed lineup

Uruguay’s coach Oscar Washington Tabarez will have his two favorite strikers, Luis Suarez and Edinson Cavani, who are returning to the team after they missed the September fixtures. However, players like Agustin Alvarez and Brian Rodríguez, who replaced them last month, will be back too.

This will be Uruguay’s starting lineup against Colombia: Muslera; Nandez, Godin, Gimenez, Vina; Valverde, Bentancur, Vecino, De Arrascaeta; Suarez, Rodriguez.

Colombia’s confirmed lineup

On the other hand, Reinaldo Rueda won’t have Miguel Borja, who’s injured, for this match. But that doesn’t mean that Colombia can’t have some talent upfront. Luis Diaz, who has scored five goals in his last 10 matches with the team, is back, just like Radamel Falcao, who had aterrific start to the campaign with Rayo Vallecano.

This will be Colombia’s starting XI to face Uruguay: Ospina; Medina, Mina, Cuesta, Mojica; Cuadrado, Barrios, Uribe, Diaz; Borre, Falcao García.
