Christian Pulisic, the top player for the United States, missed the match in El Salvador because he stayed in Nashville to restore fitness. His availability is still in doubt. In addition, Zack Steffen, Manchester City’s backup goalkeeper, was also unable to make the trip due to back spasms, thus Matt Turner may continue to fill in.

Against Honduras last week, Canada replaced Tajon Buchanan, who was evidently struggling, with Junior Hoilett at halftime. It’s possible that Hoilett will get a start at the weekend as a result of his performance.
