Venezuela and Uruguay drew without goals in a tight match at Estadio Olímpico de la UCV in Caracas for Matchday 8 of the Conmebol World Cup Qualifiers 2022. Take a look at the highlights from the match.

La Vinotinto had a good first half with some chances from Savarino and Josef Martínez, who scored but the goal was invalidated due to a hand in the area. Uruguay had more chances in the second half, especially with Luis Suarez, but also failed to score.

La Vinotinto didn’t have a good start in the Qualifiers. José Peseiro’s team only has three points from 15 possible, after losing four games. Their only win was against Chile in November, but the Venezuelans couldn’t do much against Bolivia in La Paz to keep their momentum.

Now, they will host Uruguay, who wants the three points to not lose sight of the top four in the standings. La Celeste came from a bittersweet draw against Paraguay without goals. And they will want to score now to remain in the qualification zone.
