Joy filled the Allianz Arena after the final whistle and PSGās coronation as the new UEFA Champions League champions. Luis Enrique proved to be the mastermind behind this great team, leading them to lift the coveted trophy for the first time. During the celebrations, the coach took center stage with a touching tribute.
After the match had ended, with his team having crushed Inter Milan 5-0, the Spanish coach joined the festivities with his players and, to the surprise of those present, decided to change his shirt in a heartfelt tribute.
From a distance, it was hard to tell what he was wearing, but the message was clear: a heartfelt tribute to his daughter Xana, who passed away at the end of August 2019.
What could be seen on his black shirt was a drawing of his little daughter, who had been a source of inspiration for Luis Enrique throughout his coaching career.

Luis Enrique, Head Coach of Paris Saint-Germain, is thrown into the air by players of Paris Saint-Germain as they celebrate victory after the UEFA Champions League Final 2025 between Paris Saint-Germain and FC Internazionale Milano at Munich Football Arena on May 31, 2025 in Munich, Germany.
In a clear tribute to the title won by Barcelona in 2015, also with Luis Enrique as coach, the image on his shirt reflects a specific moment when his daughter carried a flag with the teamās colors. In this case, the flag seen on his black shirt featured the PSG crest.

The life story of Luis Enrique and his daughter
Often, the success of the protagonists in this beautiful sport carries countless stories behind it, many of which are among the most painful. Luis Enrique knows this all too well, having endured one of the hardest blows of his life six years ago.
It was the end of August 2019 when his little daughter Xana lost her life after battling cancer, specifically osteosarcoma. From that moment on, nothing was the same in the coachās life, as he remembers her in every word, speech, or interview.
The triumph with PSG and the subsequent tribute on his shirt are a clear testament to the love they shared, which, according to the coachās own words, is a source of inspiration and the driving force that keeps him going in his profession.
Luis Enriqueās foundation
After the devastating loss of his daughter, Luis Enrique and his family founded the Xana Foundation, which aims solely to help children and adolescents suffering from serious illnesses who are in vulnerable situations, as well as their families.
