Nigeria vs USA: Storylines

Nigeria and the United States played an exhibition game in Las Vegas on July 18th to prepare for the Olympics. Team USA won 93-62, and it’s expected that Dawn Stanley’s girls will be the winners this Tuesday. In that match, five different players hit double-figures, including 2020 WNBA MVP A’ja Wilson with 16 points and 10 rebounds.

Although Nigeria’s roster includes WNBA’s Promise Amukamara, Evelyn Akahtor, and Ify Ibekwe, they don’t have a star studded team as the US does. The sisters Chiney and Erika Ogwumike are also in the squad but their eldest sister Nneka couldn’t play for her second country as she has already played for the USA in previous tournaments.
