<p>Recently, <em>ESPN’s </em>NBA insider <em>Shams Charania</em> reported that <strong>De’Aaron Fox </strong>rejected a three-year, $165 million max contract extension with the <strong><a href="https://bolavip.com/en/topic/sacramento-kings">Sacramento Kings</a></strong>. Now, Fox has opened up about the reasons behind his decision.</p>



<p>Beyond seeking a potentially more lucrative deal in the 2025 <a href="https://bolavip.com/en/nba">NBA</a> offseason, Fox told <em>The Athletic’s Sam Amick</em> and <em>Anthony Slater</em> that his choice was also influenced by wanting to see <strong>if the Kings are truly contenders for a championship</strong> before committing long-term.</p>



<p><em>“For one, I’m in no rush,”</em> <a href="https://bolavip.com/en/topic/deaaron-fox">Fox</a> said. “<em><strong>For two, I just want to make sure where we’re at</strong>, because people have seen the league — like, turnover of a team can happen in the matter of a month or two or six months. I mean, if we were contending for a championship, [it might be different]. Like, obviously, [the Boston Celtics’] Jayson [Tatum] just won a championship or [the Miami Heat’s] Bam [Adebayo], who has been to the finals twice.”</em></p>



<p>Fox also pointed to his peers who have secured extensions after contending at a high level. <em>“I’m just using people who are in my class [who have signed extensions],”</em> he continued. <em>“They’ve already kind of been through that, done that. So yeah, t<strong>hey have that security of [having done] that</strong>. For me, obviously, we’re continuing to build.”</em></p>

<h2>Fox’s desire to stay with the Kings</h2>



<p>While he hasn’t signed the extension, Fox emphasized his hope to remain with the Kings for the entirety of his career. <em><strong>“I would love to be here for my entire career, to be on one team, to be in one city, for my entire career,” </strong></em>Fox told Amick and Slater.</p>

<p><em>“It’s not unheard of, but it doesn’t happen a lot, so to be in that category would definitely be great,” </em>Fox added. <em>“That’s something that’s amazing. You’re able to obviously build your life, your family, your entire career, in one place. <strong>That’s everybody’s dream.</strong> No one wants to just be bouncing around teams.”</em></p>



<p>However, Fox made it clear that staying with the Kings long-term depends on the team’s future competitiveness. <em>“<strong>I want to make sure that we’re in that position to be competing and competing at a high level for a long time</strong>, not just fighting for a playoff spot.” </em></p>



<p><em>“Obviously, the way that the West is going, we have to continue to get better as players and as a team, as an organization,”</em> he continued. <em>“And, I mean, I’m not saying I’m not staying or that I am staying. <strong>But I would love to be here, and I want to make sure that we’re competing at a high level</strong>.”</em></p>

<p>We’re officially past the <strong>midpoint of the 2023-24 NBA season.</strong> As you may know by now, that means the trade deadline and the All-Star Game are just around the corner, so this is pretty much a crucial time in the campaign.</p>



<p>The next couple of weeks will pretty much<strong> make or break a team’s season</strong>. That also means some players will be on a mission for the remainder of the season after being disrespected by the fans, the coaches, and the media.</p>



<p>Every <strong>All-Star Game </strong>comes with some major snubs. We already know guys like <strong>Stephen Curry, Giannis Antetokounmpo or LeBron James</strong> are locks to make the game. But what about those who aren’t?</p>



<h2>The Top Snubs Of The 2023-24 All-Star Game</h2>



<p>This season wasn’t the exception to that rule. Despite their great play for most of the campaign, they didn’t get the nod to make the big game. Here, <strong>we’re going to talk about those players.</strong></p>

<p>The<strong> Sacramento Kings</strong> established themselves as one of the best in the game last season, even making the playoffs for the first time in quite a while. A lot of that had to do with <strong>De’Aaron Fox</strong>, who finally took a leap forward in his development.</p>



<p>The former lottery pick has been as good, if not better, this season. With averages of<strong> 27.0 points, 4.0 rebounds, 5.4 assists, 1.7 steals, and 3.0 three-pointers per game,</strong> he has the Kings back in postseason contention.</p>



<h2>2. Trae Young</h2>



<p>We get it, some people don’t want to reward bad teams, and the <strong>Atlanta Hawks </strong>haven’t been very good this season. Even so, that doesn’t mean <strong>Trae Young</strong> shouldn’t get his flowers for the numbers he’s posted this season.</p>



<p>Besides being one of the flashiest and most spectacular passers and scorers in the game, Young’s averages of <strong>27.1 points, 2.9 rebounds, 11.0 assists, 1.5 steals, and 3.3 three-pointers </strong>per game are more than All-Star-worthy.</p>



<h2>1. Domantas Sabonis</h2>



<p>It’s mind-boggling to see that<strong> Domantas Sabonis</strong> didn’t make the All-Star Game. He’s leading the league in total rebounds and rebounds per game, and is shooting a whopping 63.3% from the floor.</p>



<p>Sabonis is one of the best playmaking big men we’ve seen in quite a while, a perennial triple-double threat who can score at will in the restricted area. So far, he’s averaged<strong> 20.0 points, 13.0 rebounds, and 8.0 assists per game</strong>.</p>
