As big as the Forty Acres campus is, it may not be large enough to fit every talent at the University of Texas in Austin. <a href="https://bolavip.com/en/topic/arch-manning">Arch Manning</a> and the Texas Longhorns learned that when a key teammate left the program almost immediately after Auburn Tigers transfer Cam Coleman committed to the Horns.



The 2025 NCAA season has come to an early end for Manning and the Longhorns, but that only means they now have more time to gear up for the 2026 campaign. On that note, Steve Sarkisian is sending a message to the rest of <a href="https://bolavip.com/en/college-football">college football</a> with a second-to-none offensive unit. 



However, <a href="https://bolavip.com/en/topic/texas-longhorns">Texas</a> must give to get. After adding Coleman—the No. 1 WR in the portal—the Longhorns learned another talent in the wide receiver room has decided to continue his college football journey elsewhere, more specifically in Ann Arbor.



As reported by On3, Texas true freshman Jaime Ffrench has now committed to the <a href="https://bolavip.com/en/topic/michigan">Michigan Wolverines</a>. The 6’1” wideout was a four-star prospect coming out of Mandarin High School in Jacksonville, Florida. However, he redshirted his first season in Texas, appearing in just four games for the Longhorns. As he joins the Wolverines, he will have all four years of eligibility remaining.

<h2>No sweet home Alabama</h2>



It’s safe to say Texas has developed a taste for raining on Alabama’s parade. Though landing Coleman from <a href="https://bolavip.com/en/topic/auburn">Auburn</a> was never going to be easy, the Tide and Horns were considered the two favorites to secure the sophomore wideout. In the end, the former Tigers star made his exit from The Plains easier by heading to Austin rather than Tuscaloosa.

Now, Texas boasts an offense with enough firepower to command respect from NFL defenses—let alone <a href="https://bolavip.com/en/topic/ncaa">NCAA</a> units. The Longhorns are only a few tweaks away on the offensive line from putting together a no-excuses unit for Manning to lead.

Changes are coming for the Kansas City Chiefs following a disappointing 2025 NFL season. Not only will they see a different roster next year, but <a href="https://bolavip.com/en/nfl/andy-reid-could-potentially-lose-coach-in-the-chiefs-ahead-of-2026-nfl-season">Andy Reid is also expected to lose members of his coaching staff in 2026</a>.



On Saturday, Reid and the Chiefs found out they’re officially losing their first assistant coach for the 2026 campaign with assistant defensive line coach Alex Whittingham leaving for a job in college football.



<a href="https://mgoblue.com/news/2026/1/3/football-whittingham-announces-coaching-staff-for-defense-special-teams">The University of Michigan announced its defensive coaching staff hirings</a> for 2026, with Alex becoming the Wolverines’ new linebackers coach in a staff led by his father, Kyle, who’s entering his first year as head coach of the program.



Alex has been part of Reid’s coaching staff in Kansas City since 2018, serving on different roles and working with practically every defensive unit during his long tenure with the Chiefs.

Whittingham spent his first year in Kansas City working with the outside linebackers before transitioning to the defensive line room in 2019. The next four seasons he coached the linebackers group, and in 2024, he worked with the secondary.

From 2020 to 2023, he worked with a linebackers group that saw the likes of Nick Bolton and Leo Chenal rise to stardom.



He switched to the secondary by returning to the defensive assistant position in 2024, but 2025 saw him get promoted to assistant defensive line coach, a vacancy left by Terry Bradden Jr’s move to the Nebraska Cornhuskers.



Whittingham was part of the five Super Bowl trips the Chiefs made under <a href="https://bolavip.com/en/topic/andy-reid">Reid</a>, celebrating three rings in Kansas City. The Chiefs were top-10 in points against in six of his eight years with the team, including top-six finishes in each of the last three seasons. In addition, Kansas City was top-12 in yards allowed per game in each of the last four seasons with Whittingham on staff.



Whittingham joining his father at Michigan may be just the first of many coaching changes in Kansas City this offseason. While <a href="https://bolavip.com/en/nfl/andy-reid-reveals-his-intention-about-future-as-chiefs-hc-after-disappointing-2025-season">Reid revealed his intention to coach the Chiefs in 2026</a>, others might be looking elsewhere.

Running out of contract, offensive coordinator Matt Nagy is expected to audition for multiple head coaching openings in the NFL. The Tennessee Titans have emerged as the first suitor, given Nagy’s connection with former Chiefs assistant GM Mike Borgonzi, now GM for the Titans. But even if he doesn’t land a HC job, Nagy could still leave for an OC opening elsewhere if given the play-calling responsibilities.



Defensive coordinator Steve Spagnuolo, also sought by the Titans, tends to be a coveted name in every offseason, and after running the unit for the Chiefs since 2019, perhaps he entertains the possibility of starting a new chapter in 2025.

The situation at Michigan is quite difficult; it’s a major program that currently lacks a “strong” head coach. They only have Biff Poggi as an interim, who knows the program from the inside, but it is not certain he will be the head coach next season.



Furthermore, DeBoer is quite comfortable with a $10.25 million salary at Alabama. At Michigan, they were paying Moore $6 million before his departure. The Crimson Tide head coach should not risk losing a contract that secures his future until 2031.

The college football world was shaken days ago after harsh sanctions were handed down to the Michigan Wolverines and several individuals involved at the time — including former head coach <a href="https://bolavip.com/en/topic/jim-harbaugh">Jim Harbaugh</a>. The signal-stealing controversy left a lasting impact, with some of those implicated now facing significant penalties, both financial and competitive.


 


Now the head coach of the Chargers, Harbaugh was the one who led the <a href="https://bolavip.com/en/topic/michigan">Wolverines</a> to a National Championship Game during that period. At the time, he worked closely with Sherrone Moore — now Michigan’s current HC — as part of his coaching staff.



As his team continues preparations for the upcoming NFL season, Harbaugh was approached by the media this past weekend and asked about the recent sanctions. His response was brief.

<h2>What is the Michigan scandal all about?</h2>



The Michigan Wolverines football program is now facing the full force of sanctions following its investigation into illegal recruiting and a major sign-stealing scandal. The ruling, which the school has stated it will appeal, includes a significant multi-million dollar fine, as well as probation for four years.
