Tampa Bay Buccaneers had the most difficult time of their season against the New Orleans Saints, losing 38-3 at home against Drew Brees and co., in Week 9 of the 2020/21 NFL season.

After the game, people wanted to find someone to blame for the bad result and most fans pointed out Tom Brady and his bad performance. Brady missed several chances to connect with teammates in plays that could have been beneficial for the team.

Bruce Arians didn’t hold anything and subtle shaded Brady, blaming him for not targeting Mike Evans enough during the loss. When people believed Arians was wrong for this, Brady echoed these remarks and actually agreed with the head coach.

Tom Brady speaks on lack of targets for WR Mike Evans

Brady explained that he needs to keep everyone in offense involved and he will try to do that in the next games.

“He’s a spectacular player and I think from my perspective, it’s just me giving him opportunities to touch the ball, catch it and figuring out different ways based on different styles of defense that we’re getting that enable him to touch it,” Brady said, via the team’s website. “He’s an incredible player when he gets it and he’s an incredible player before he gets it. [We’re] working hard at it and again, I wish I’d be making every throw exactly the way I want. The only thing I can say is we’re trying to get it right, trying to figure out how to get everybody involved and put together a lot of different pieces that have never been together – including myself.”

Antonio Brown landed a couple of weeks ago and that gave Brady more tools to use on the field. That situation affected Evan’s touches but now the veteran quarterback will try to mix things up and involve everybody in the offense. The Bucs have one of the best offensives in the league and that number of options can be counterproductive sometimes.

Luckily for them, the HC and QB are on the same page and will try to get the best of the weapons they have right now.
