Cameron Boozer is one of the leading figures of the Duke Blue Devils and is expected to be one of the top prospects in the upcoming NBA Draft. However, the player himself prefers not to focus on the position at which he will be selected.
“For me, whether I go one or go 15th, it’s more about fit,” he said, via The Athletic. “I just want to have a long career. Where I start doesn’t really determine where I’m going to finish or end up.
“So obviously, I see what people say, I see whatever, but that’s not going to matter 10 years from now. It’s just about, for me, stacking days. Being the best version of me. And yeah, everything will work out fine.”
Boozer’s standout season at Duke
Throughout the 2025-26 season, Cameron Boozer has been the driving force for Duke, averaging 22.5 points, 10.3 rebounds, and 4.2 assists while shooting 56% from the field.
The ACC Player of the Year carried this dominance into his March Madness debut, leading the No. 1 seed Blue Devils to a comeback victory over Siena with 22 points and 13 rebounds.
His interior presence and elite rebounding (averaging a double-double) are the primary reasons Duke remains the favorite to reach the Final Four as they head into their Round of 32 matchup.
Potential NBA destinations for Boozer
As the 2026 NBA Draft approaches, the Indiana Pacers, Washington Wizards, and Sacramento Kings have emerged as the primary suitors for Cameron Boozer.
Given Indiana’s current league-worst record (15-55) and their reported interest in pairing Boozer with Pascal Siakam, he is a strong candidate for the No. 1 overall pick if the Pacers win the lottery.
Other rebuilding franchises like the Brooklyn Nets and Utah Jazz are also closely monitoring the Duke star, valuing his ‘high-floor’ potential and polished interior game as a foundational piece for their frontcourts.
