With the college basketball season all but over for most players, scouts can dig deep into the tape to determine who’s worthy of a top selection in the 2025 NBA Draft.
In recent weeks, Baylor star SG/SF VJ Edgecombe has seen his draft stock on the rise, up to the point where he’s now ahead of Rutgers’ Ace Bailey as the third-best prospect entering the league.
That’s why, with the Charlotte Hornets projected to have the third-overall pick, Jonathan Wasserman of Bleacher Report believes they will go after the Bahamian star.
VJ Edgecombe could play for the Charlotte Hornets
“VJ Edgecombe made a number of on-brand plays in the postseason with his explosion, shotmaking, unselfish nature and defensive activity. He applied pressure with his open-floor speed, first step in the half court, hang time around the basket, spot-up shooting and quickness/motor for getting deflections and steals,” wrote Wasserman.
Of course, a lot can happen from now to the actual day of the NBA Draft, and projections can also change after the NBA Draft Lottery. For now, he looks like the third-best player here.
And while the Hornets need a lot of help to get back to the playoffs, landing an athletic freak and a strong force of nature like Edgecombe could certainly steer the wheel in the right direction.
